Woman assaults her boyfriend

A Marshalltown woman landed a felony charge after she allegedly assaulted her boyfriend.

Molly Bisson, 47, was arrested Monday on the 100 block of North Second Street, after police saw the victim’s obvious scratch marks on his facial and neck area.

Capt. Mike Hanken, with the Marshalltown Police Department, said an argument between the two escalated then Bisson slapped and hit her boyfriend.

The victim did not require medical attention, Hanken said.

Due to two prior domestic assault convictions, Bisson was charged with felony domestic abuse-enhanced, a Class D felony.

Raelynn McVay, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a no valid driver’s license charge. She pleaded guilty to both charges. On the driving under suspension the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. The fine on the driver’s license charge is $200 with a $70 surcharge, a $5 county enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $335. All payments are due within 30 days of today’s date.

Caleb Perin, of Rhodes, made an initial appearance on a registration violation charge and a no insurance charge. He pleaded guilty to the registration charge and the fine is $20 with a $7 surcharge, a $5 county enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $92, due within 30 days of today’s date. The insurance charge was dismissed when proof of insurance was provided with $60 in court costs assessed, due within 30 days.

Andre JB Rockingham, of Des Moines, made an initial appearance on a warrant for burglary-third degree. The public defender’s office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on July 28. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

Tuesday

Terry Michael Doeden, 211 W. Ingledue St., made an initial appearance on a sex abuse-third degree charge and a harboring a runaway child charge. The public defender’s office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on July 28. Bond is set at $10,000 cash only. If bond is secured, Doeden is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

Stephanie Lynn Anderson, 112 N. 13th St., made an initial appearance on a possession of a Schedule II controlled substance-methamphetamine-third or subsequent charge and a theft-fifth degree from Walmart charge. The public defender’s office was appointed to handle her case. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Aug. 11. Anderson is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services with instructions to sign a written promise to appear before release, report to the adult probation office by 4 p.m. today and sign a pre-trial release agreement and obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days of today’s date.

The court ordered that if Bisson owned or possessed any firearms or ammunition, she is to contact the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office within 24 hours to make arrangements to surrender them. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

Travis Feeback, of Urbandale, made an initial appearance on a warrant charging him with failure to appear for sentencing on an operation while intoxicated charge. Chad Frese will continue as counsel. The sentencing hearing is rescheduled at 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 6. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety.

Chaske Marie Brown, of Tama, made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for a contempt hearing charge and a failure to complete a jail sentence-mittimus charge. The court appointed Aaron Vaughn to represent Brown in the contempt hearing. The contempt hearing is rescheduled at 11 a.m. on Aug. 13. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety. Brown will remain in custody to finishing serving her 30 day jail sentence.

Michael Leslie Anthony, 514 N. Second Ave. Apt. #2, made an initial appearance on a warrant charging him with failure to appear for a driving under suspension charge, a new DUS charge, a operation without registration charge, a improper use of registration charge and a no insurance charge. He pleaded guilty to all charges. On the warrant DUS charge the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50 plus extra for service of warrant. The second DUS and the no insurance totals are $397.50. On the operation without registration the fine is $50 with a $17.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $127.50. The fine on the improper use of registration is $200 with a $70 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $330. All payments are under a $50 per month payments plan with the first payment due Aug. 22 and continuing until the debts are paid in full.

Deja Lynne Hasselmann, 1509 Marion St. Apt. E2, made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. She pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9 a.m. on Aug. 19 in Magistrate Court.

Anson St. No injuries were reported. Flugge was cited for failure to stop within an assured, clear distance and following too close. Damage to the Flugge vehicle was estimated at $5,000 while the Lang car received an estimated $3,000 in damage.
