High Twelve Club No. 617 installs officers for 2014-15
Marshalltown High Twelve Club No. 617 members and guests met on the fifth floor of the Masonic Temple July 21 for its 2014-15 Officer Installation and Dinner.
North Central Association of High Twelve Clubs Secretary Dr. Thomas E.H. Gruis welcomed those assembled and an invocation by Chaplain John A. Jones preceded the picnic style meal prepared by Central Chapter No. 67, Order of the Eastern Star.
After dinner members and guests moved to the Lodge Hall and 2013-14 President Steven E. Smith called to order the installation of officers. All recited the Pledge of Alliance to the United States Flag. Richard Anderson, 2014-15 president of the NCA of High Twelve Clubs, officiated over the ceremony and was assisted by Gruis, installing marshal; Paul E. Heckman, installing secretary; and Jones, installing chaplain. Music during the service was provided by Colette Benge, organist.
Officers serving for 2014-15 are Mack A. German, president; Gregory L. Andersen, first vice-president; Ronald L. Benge, second vice-president; and Carlon R. Flowers, third vice-president. Also installed were Heckman as secretary-treasurer; Berdette Bryngelson as Masonic and NCA representative; Norman R. Rank as Sergeant-at-Arms; and Jones as chaplain.
Past President Smith announced Heckman as the recipient of the 2013-14 High Twelvian of the Year honors.
Rank introduced and thanked the distinguished brothers and guests. Jones closed the meeting with the benediction.
The next meeting will be the Aug. 4 social gathering. Rank is in charge of the program.
