Marshalltown man to be inducted into slow pitch Hall

Marshalltown’s own John Casey will be one of four men inducted into the Iowa 16-Inch Slow Pitch Softball Hall of Fame today during the ASA Men’s Major 16-Inch State Tournament at the South Sixth Street Complex.

The Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be from 12:30-1 p.m. today – the second of three days of the state tournament. A brunch for the four inductees and their guests will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Best Western Plus Regency Inn, along with Iowa State ASA Commissioner Tom Topping, Iowa 16-Inch Hall of Fame Chairman Bob Fassbender, and Iowa ASA Council and Hall of Fame Committee assistant Bill Blanchard.

Along with Casey, three Cedar Rapids natives are being inducted today as well: players Mike Knox and Roger Garin, and umpire Steve Stafford.
