Charles H. Alderink, 64, of Marshalltown, IA, formerly of Milaca, MN, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at the Iowa Veterans Home, in Marshalltown. Memorial services will be held 11:30 a.m., Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Anderson Funeral Homes, 405 West Main Street. A memorial fund has been established. Chuck was born one of four children on June 1, 1950 to Roy and Marie (Weber) Alderink in Princeton, MN. He graduated from Milaca High School in 1968. Shortly after his 18th birthday, he proudly served in the United States Navy for about two years from 1968-1970. Through his first marriage, he fathered and raised three children, residing in New Ulm, MN. In 1983, he met Lanette and moved in 1984 to Laurel, IA where the two were united in marriage. Within this marriage, two more children were born, Courtenay and Joseph.
Chuck worked as a truck driver for all of his life. He loved his country and enjoyed camping, motorcycle riding and sleeping in.
Left to cherish Chuck’s memory are two sisters, Sheila (Bill) Lerew of Rapid City, SD, Charlotte Holiday of Spanaway, WA, a brother, Mark Alderink of Lewistown, MT, children, Christie Alderink Schablin of Redwood Falls, MN, Michelle (Lisa) Place of Okoboji, IA, Courtenay Alderink of Laurel, IA and Joseph Alderink of Des Moines, IA and three grandchildren, Lexi, Chase and Corley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marie and Roy.
