Ample TV time coming for Cyclone men’s basketball
AMES – Coming off three straight NCAA Tournament appearances, the Iowa State men’s basketball team will have plenty more opportunities to capture the attention of a national audience this season.
The Cyclones’ full schedule was released Thursday with 20 games televised on the ESPN family of networks, including all 18 games of their double-round robin schedule in Big 12 Conference play.
ISU opens the year in Ames against Oakland on Nov. 17 as one of four games in the CBE Hall of Fame Classic. Iowa State heads to Kansas City, Mo., for the final two games of the tourney battling Alabama on Nov. 24 and either Arizona State or Maryland on Nov. 25.
Arkansas visits Hilton Coliseum on Dec. 4 as part of the SEC/Big 12 Challenge before the ‘Clones travel to Carver-Hawkeye Arena for the annual Cy-Hawk Series on Dec. 12. ISU also faces in-state rival Drake in the Big Four Classic at Wells Fargo Arena on Dec. 20 and caps its non-conference slate against South Carolina on Jan. 3 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
ISU opens Big 12 Conference play against Oklahoma State at Hilton Coliseum on Jan. 6.
The Cyclones have three Big Monday games on ESPN starting with Texas on Jan. 26 at home, before traveling to Kansas on Feb. 2 and heading to Oklahoma a week later.
